Today I recorded Carol giving the opening to the HIT video.  At 5 we are going to interview some students for a different project.

In lighter news, Carol and I had lunch with Joe D'Ambrosio today!  If you don't already know, he is the radio Voice of the Uconn Men's Basketball team, a sportscaster for WTIC AM and on TV with NBC Connecticut.  Pretty exciting stuff, and he told me I could call him if I ever needed advice regarding radio.   I'm really loving the radio/communications industry!

HIT WIP

Last Wednesday Carol and I interviewed four people for the HIT promotional video; two students and two staff members.  Today I put together all the clips we are going to use and made some edits to the script.  On Thursday we're going to rewrite the script and hopefully record the voice over!  We'll also be recording interviews for another video on Thursday.  It's a busy week!

What is Social Media, and Why Should I Care?

The "What is Social Media, and Why Should I Care?" Lunch & Learn was great!  Carol provided an easy-to-understand approach to a variety of social networking sites, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Linkedin.  Participants were able to ask questions and received quick and informed answers.

Carol included a few youtube videos, the "anatomy of a tweet," and an example of how to upload a photo to Facebook.  Everyone came away from the program with a much better understanding of the relevancy and availability of social media.

Socia Media Presentation Today!

Hi everyone, my name's Mary and I'll be interning here at CCC for the next three weeks (and a little more in August)!  I'm going to be helping out Carol Vassar-Pettit with making and uploading videos such as the one above, and connecting with other social media outlets as well. Today I get to sit in on Carol's Social Media Lunch & Learn, and I'll be taking pictures of the event to post here later.

I'm already learning a lot about the media business, and will keep you updated via this blog once a week!  Check back for more videos and updates about my experiences here at Capital Community College.
